Specialization Chemistry Affiliation Faculty of Science, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi Role Center LeaderIbrahim Hassan Garba is a Professor of Biochemistry at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Nigeria. He obtained his Doctorate degree in Biochemistry, specializing in the enzymopathogenesis of host-parasite interactions in falciparum malaria infection. He is a fellow of the Poverty-Related Diseases and Development (PRD) College. He received advanced training in Vaccinology, Genomics, Biology of Host-Parasite Interactions, Biomedicine and International Development from the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, New Delhi, India and the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Cape Town, South Africa, the Department of Biochemistry, Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda, the Biotechnology Centre (BTC), Nkolbisson / the University of Yaounde I Cameroon and the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology (MPIIB) Berlin, Germany. He trained in Bioethics / Biomedical Research Ethics at the African Malaria Network Trust (AMANET) Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. He has a postgraduate Certificate in Research Methodology from the Department of Veterinary Tropical Diseases, University of Pretoria, South Africa, on a scholarship from the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) Wigeningen, Netherlands. He is a Visiting Professor at the Gombe State University, Gombe, Nigeria. He has served several universities, including the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, University of Maiduguri, University of Jos, Bayero University, Kano, Modibbo Adama University, Yola, Bauchi State University, Gadau, the Nigeria Defense Academy, the Nigeria Police Academy in different capacities, as an external examiner (Undergraduate and Postgraduate) and as assessor of candidates for the post of Associate Professor and Full Professorial Chairs. He has also served on several accreditation and resource verification panels of the National Universities Commission (NUC). He was also a member of both the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) and the National Screening and Monitoring Committee of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund’s (TetFund) National Research Fund (NRF). He is currently the Centre Leader of the World Bank /FGN/NUC/ATBU Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards (SPESSE) Project, Centre of Excellence both at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, Nigeria.
